Trading Key
DO NOT TRADE MANUALLY ON THE SAME HYPERLIQUID ACCOUNT WHILE THE KEY IS ACTIVE.
Trading Keys
Renzo runs the strategy on Hyperliquid through a trading key you approve through a signature on your own Hyperliquid account. It allows Renzo to place and manage orders for the strategy while your funds stay in your account at all times.
You approve the key once. Renzo does not take custody of your assets and cannot move them.
Scope of the key
The trading key applies to Hyperliquid only. It authorises trading on your Hyperliquid account and nothing else. It grants no permission on any other exchange, protocol, chain or wallet, and Renzo uses it only for the strategy you enabled.
Permissions
The trading key is limited to trading actions on Hyperliquid.
The key can:
Open, adjust and close positions for the strategy you enabled
Place, modify and cancel orders
Rebalance the hedge and act on the risk presets and guards you configured
It cannot:
Withdraw funds from your Hyperliquid account
Transfer or send funds to any address
Approve additional keys or change your account settings
Access any venue, chain or wallet outside Hyperliquid
There is no configuration in which the key gains withdrawal rights. Withdrawals always require a signature from your own wallet.
90 day expiry
Every trading key is issued with a validity period of 90 days. At the end of that period the key stops working automatically and Renzo can no longer place orders on your account.
The expiry is a safety limit. It caps how long a single approval stays live and forces a periodic review of the permission you granted. Renewing is a new approval signed from your wallet.
Renewing before expiry does not interrupt the strategy. Positions continue to be managed without a break.
Choosing what happens at expiry
You select what should happen to your position when the key expires. The setting is chosen when you approve the key and can be changed at any time while the key is active.
Close the position
Renzo closes the position before the key expires. Your balance remains in your Hyperliquid account.
Hold the position
The position stays open exactly as it is. Renzo stops managing it from the moment the key expires.
If you choose to hold the position, note the following:
The position is no longer rebalanced
Guards and risk presets are no longer enforced
You are responsible for managing or closing it manually on Hyperliquid
Revoking a trading key
You can revoke the trading key at any time, through settings. Revocation takes effect immediately and Renzo loses the ability to place orders on your account.
Revoking does not close open positions. If you revoke while a position is open, that position stays open and unmanaged by the guards until you close it yourself.
The recommended order is to exit the strategy first, confirm the position is closed, then revoke the key.
Trading on the same account
DO NOT TRADE MANUALLY ON THE SAME HYPERLIQUID ACCOUNT WHILE THE TRADING KEY IS ACTIVE.
Two things can go wrong:
The key can be rendered inactive. Approving another trading key on the same Hyperliquid account can replace the existing approval. If that happens, Renzo can no longer manage your position, and any position that is open stays open without rebalancing or guard enforcement.
The strategy loses accuracy. Manual orders, manual closes and manual cancellations change the positions Renzo is tracking. Hedge ratios, sizing and guards are calculated against the account state, so any change made outside Renzo can push the strategy out of its intended range.
If you want to trade manually on Hyperliquid, use a separate account or subaccount that is not connected to the strategy.
